Jonas Brothers play Blossom

SPECIAL VIDEO: THE JONAS BROS. @ BLOSSOM
By Lonnie Timmons III / The Plain Dealer

Before the sold-out Jonas Brothers show Friday night at Blossom Music Center, some lucky fans got to meet Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas and check out the group’s soundcheck.

——————————————————————————–

What is the sound of one hand clapping? I think we can safely cross a Jonas Brothers concert off the list of possible answers to that ancient Zen riddle.

The ultra-catchy pop-rock of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas was amped up loud when they brought their Burning Up Tour to Blossom Music Center for a sold-out gig Friday evening. It had to be, lest the music be drowned out by 20,000 ecstatic showgoers, mostly girls in their tweens and teens.

It felt like summer’s last gasp — and summer went down screaming its lungs out.

Days, weeks and months of pent-up anticipation erupted into a primal squeal – AAAIIIEEEEE! — as the JoBros announced their arrival with “That’s Just the Way We Roll,” a sticky-sweet battle cry for a new generation. “Where would we be if we couldn’t dream?” they sang.

Joe, 19, handled lead vocals with aplomb, between flicks of that glorious mane. Kevin, 20, revealed himself to be a budding guitar hero. And Nick, 15, played a bit of everything, including drums on a fun cover of Shania Twain’s “I’m Gonna Getcha Good.”

These precocious overachievers didn’t have to rely on hits by others, however. They had plenty of their own to stoke the crowd, including “Hold On,” “Year 3000″ and “S.O.S.,” which brought the concert to a close nearly two hours after it began.

Their main four-piece backing band was bolstered with an eight-piece string section.

Nick, left, and Kevin Jonas rock out during the sold-out Jonas Brothers show Friday night at Blossom Music Center.
Feeding off the energy of the glowstick-twirling masses, the brothers cavorted on a multi-tiered stage flanked by two curving ramps. They also strutted down a long runway extending into the audience, where a sea of little hands reached up for a piece of their idols. They might as well have been faith healers.

In the middle of “Still in Love with You,” the JBs grabbed blasters to anoint fans with foam.

All that devotion was not misplaced. Kevin, Joe and Nick write much of their own material, which makes them eminently more likable – er, better make that lovable (sorry, ladies) — than your average prefabricated Top 40 sensation.

“Has anyone built me a birdhouse yet?” Kevin quipped. The cognoscenti immediately recognized the reference to “Camp Rock,” a Disney Channel movie starring the JoBros. They performed a handful of selections from the soundtrack, including “Gotta Find You” and “Play My Music.” Joining them for “This Is Me” was “Camp Rock” co-star Demi Lovato, who shared crowd-warming duties with the Veronicas.

The JBs also showcased no fewer than nine songs (including “Burnin’ Up,” with a rap cameo by their bodyguard, Big Rob) from their latest album, “A Little Bit Longer.” It debuted at No. 1 this week on the Billboard album chart.

Nick accompanied himself on piano as he sang the title track, a power ballad peppered with motivational remarks about his struggle with Type 1 diabetes.

Toward the end of the night, Kevin, Joe and Nick rose 20 feet into the air on pillars to serenade us with “Hello Beautiful.” Clearly, they’re not afraid of heights. Good thing, too, because the way their career is going, the Jonas Brothers might as well get used to the view from the top.

SET LIST: “That’s Just the Way We Roll,” “Shelf,” “Hold On,” “BB Good,” “Goodnight and Goodbye,” “Video Girl,” “Gotta Find You,” “This Is Me” (with Demi Lovato), “A Little Bit Longer,” “I’m Gonna Getcha Good,” “Still in Love with You,” “Tonight,” “Year 3000,” “Pushing Me Away,” “Hello Beautiful,” “Love Bug,” “Can’t Have You,” “Play My Music,” “Burnin’ Up”

ENCORE: “When You Look Me in the Eyes,” “S.O.S.”

About Us:
Welcome,
One day I was sitting in my room and the Lord impressed upon my heart to begin a website for these young men, Paul, Joseph, and Nicholas. I was quite taken when I noticed their ring finger, "A Covenant Ring!" I said to myself. So I did more research on these young men and I found out these are Pastors Children and that blessed my heart, they are members of the body of Christ. Therefore this website is birthed in support of our brothers. Therefore we shall uphold them in Prayer.

A Prayer for the Jonas Brothers

" Dear Lord,
We at JonasBrothersAngels.com
come to You in prayer and we ask that You surround
Paul, Joseph , and Nicholas
with Your divine
protection as they
travel from city to city
across this nation.

We ask that You continue
to assign Angels to watch
over them. Guide them
and keep them under
the shadows of Your wings,
cover their bus, their
plane, their car and
their hotel rooms with
the blood of Jesus.
Let no harm come their way.

Lord thank You for these three
young men that You
are raising up at such a
time as this. Thank You
for their boldness as they
perform at every concert
and for making a difference in peoples
lives. We pray for their
health, we pray every
organ, fiber & tissue
function to the
perfection that you
created it to function.
Thank You for giving
"The Jonas Brothers" favor.
We pray in
Jesus name.......Amen ".

I’ve written this “Prayer” so each and everyone of us, in unity can pray this prayer every night on behalf of Paul, Joseph, and Nicholas

I believe these young men have an excellent heart and their kind hearts will transfer over to the young people, our generation, and will cause duplication. Soon we will all be wearing our very own “Purity” rings. Woo! Hoo!
