Despite a huge drop-off from the gaudy numbers it posted last week, the Jonas Brothers begin a second week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with “A Little Bit Longer.” The Hollywood set sold 147,000 units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, 72% less than its debut total of 525,000.

Beacon Journal pop music writer Malcolm X Abram was invited to spend Friday afternoon with the Jonas Brothers as they toured Northeast Ohio before their sold-out Blossom concert. Here’s how the first part of the day unfolded.
12:30 p.m. — Rock and Roll Hall of Fame conference room. Two pools of reporters, one local and the other from Japan and Brazil, are listening to many, many instructions before we join the Jonas Brothers (insert reflexive scream here) on the special tour/photo op/interview/artifact presentation.
Most of the rules are from the rock hall officials, and it’s obvious that the brothers’ tour/photo/interview op has been carefully planned, with curator Jim Henke and Meredith Rutledge set to take the trio around the building. Security folks are floating around and there’s a slowly growing crowd awaiting a peek at the boys.
They may have all the pull of pop culture’s most magnetic teenage boys. But make no mistake: There is nothing childish about the Jonas Brothers.
At Sunday’s sold-out gig, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas showed off a musical and vocal maturity they rarely get credit for. Sure, the screaming was abundant. And yes, the tickets to the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre show were fetching Hannah Montana-like prices.

Before the sold-out Jonas Brothers show Friday night at Blossom Music Center, some lucky fans got to meet Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas and check out the group’s soundcheck.
Last night’s sold-out Jonas Brothers concert at Nationwide Arena offered an opportunity for thousands of preteen and teenage girls to shriek together for hours on end.
Screeching started long before the Brothers appeared, helped along by the constant presence of a video screen urging the audience to “Scream if you love Kevin” or “Scream for Joe,” as well as the occasional “Simon says quack like a duck,” to which the audience also responded obediently.
Then there was the concert itself. The band, for the uninitiated, consists of three siblings from New Jersey, raised to stardom with the considerable help of the Disney corporation. Read more »
Eloquent, cheerful and eager to talk for once about the music instead of the mania, the three Jonas Brothers spoke with Jim DeRogatis by phone last week in the midst of the tour that brings them to the Chicago area today.
Q. How did “A Little Bit Longer” come together in the studio?
Nick: We started writing this record about this time last year. It was right after our self-titled album came out, and we were writing all these songs. We knew that we wouldn’t have much time, because we were about to go shoot “Camp Rock,” and right after that, we’d be on tour with Miley [Cyrus]. So basically, we asked our management team, “How can we get into the studio to do this?” and we wound up bringing a tour bus out on the road that was retro-fitted to be a studio. Read more »

Kevin, Joe and Nick — the Jonas Brothers — tour the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Cleveland before their sold-out concert Friday evening at Blossom Music Center.
One day I was sitting in my room and the Lord impressed upon my heart to begin a website for
these young men, Paul, Joseph, and Nicholas. I was quite taken when I noticed their ring finger, "A Covenant Ring!" I said to myself. So I did more research on these young men and I found out these are Pastors Children and that blessed my heart, they are members of the body of Christ. Therefore this website is birthed in support of our brothers. Therefore we shall uphold them in Prayer.
A Prayer for the Jonas Brothers
" Dear Lord,

come to You in prayer and we ask that You surround
Paul, Joseph , and Nicholas
with Your divine
protection as they
travel from city to city
across this nation.
We ask that You continue to assign Angels to watch over them. Guide them and keep them under the shadows of Your wings, cover their bus, their plane, their car and their hotel rooms with the blood of Jesus. Let no harm come their way.

I’ve written this “Prayer” so each and everyone of us, in unity can pray this prayer every night on behalf of Paul, Joseph, and Nicholas
I believe these young men have an excellent heart and their kind hearts will transfer over to the young people, our generation, and will cause duplication. Soon we will all be wearing our very own “Purity” rings. Woo! Hoo!
